Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

The battalion was in the front lines at  when they were ordered to attack and capture a number of objectives, despite flooded shell holes, boggy and muddy ground and enemy fire the battalion managed to capture all their objectives including Berks Houses, Banff House and Bray Farm (marked in green on map below). Ralph was killed during this action.
