Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)
Ernest was most likely wounded between the 4th and the 13th May 1917 when the battalion were in lines at Arleux and there were 82 men wounded during that time. He would have been taken to the either the 30th or 42nd Casualty Clearing Station which were both in Aubigny at that the time he died.
