Circumstances of Death

Horace is listed as being killed in action on 24 Oct 1917, having initially being reported at killed in action. The 2nd/7th Battalion War Diary entry for that day is transcribed. The appendix mentioned could be not found in the diary.

St. Nicholas, Arras, Fampoux - 24-10-17: At 2.30pm Capt Goodwin, H and 2/Lt Robinson, HVG and 50 other ranks raided the enemys trenches immediately south of the Railway Cutting. (See appendix attd & marked A & B).

Casualties: Killed 2 O.R, missing 2/Lt Robinson, HVG and 4 O.R, wounded 11 O.R.
Other casualties: Killed O.R. 2; wounded O.R. 1
