Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)           

Percy is listed as being killed on 24 Aug 1917. On that day the battalion war diary reports that they were in the front lines near Canal Bank just east of St. Julien when the enemy attacked the battalion gun pits with flame throwers forcing C Company to retire. The gun pits were retaken the following day by the 1st/8th Bn Royal Warwicks'.
