Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

Charles is listed as dying of his wounds at the 10th Stationary Hospital in St. Omer on 20 Jun 1915.

We cannot be certain when Charles was wounded as the Battalion war diary reports unnamed men being wounded an on almost daily basis during the month of June. The most likely date was the 15 Jun 1915 at Hooge when 255 men of the battalion were wounded during an attack on enemy lines near Hooge Chateau. Other than recording his death there we did not find any newspaper reports detailing when he was wounded.
