Circumstances of Death

William is listed as having died of wounds on 14th February 1917. The 7th Battalion War diary states that William was wounded on 12 Feb 1917 whilst the Battalion was being relieved by the 12th Battalion Kings Liverpool Regiment at Combles near Guillemont. He died 2 days later at either the 34th or 2/2nd London Casualty Clearing Station at Meaulte.
