Circumstances of Death

Cuthbert listed as dying of wounds on 3rd November 1915 at the 10th Casualty Clearing Station, Lijssenthoek. He had been shot by a sniper earlier in the day. The 175th Coy war diary entries for the 2nd & 3rd November are transcribed below.

Vlamertinghe – Nov 3rd 1915: Lt. Whittaker joined. 2/Lt Allen shot by sniper at Armagh Wood of died of wounds.
