Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)           

Shem caught Nephritis on or about 15 Nov 1915 while in the lines at Ploegsteert was hospitalised in England before being evacuated back to Canada on 27 Mar 1916 and then discharged on 19 Nov 1916. Shem then returned to England arriving back in Liverpool in Feb 1918 and died at home on 8 May 1918.
