Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)           

Edgar died of Pulmonary Tuberculosis at home in Wellesbourne
  • On 10 Sep 1920 the Stratford Herald reported that he "died of disease contracted during four years active service in France".
  • On 17 Sep 1920 the Warwick Advertiser reported that "His Machine Gun Company was attached to the Irish Division and from the Somme to Passchendaele they were continually engaged. At the latter place he was wounded and had severe trench fever and afterwards was Acting Captain of a Company at the Base until the Armistice, when he went with the Army of the Rhine, with the Lowland Division."
