Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)           

On the 27th of July 1917 he took off from Northolt aerodrome in a Bristol F2B # A7103 with Lieutenant A.D. Miller as his Observer. As he came in to land the aircraft suddenly nosedived and crashed. Ivan Hart-Davies is said to have died from the shock of the fall while Lieutenant Miller was injured.
