Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

The battalion took part in the Battle of Garvelle and were given the objective of attacking and capturing Greenland Hill. On the 28th April They formed up in Clasp trench and made the attack, after a while the battalion had lost most of its officers and the men had become scattered and were unable to reach the main objective however they did manage to form a line 400 yards east of Cuba trench where they consolidated their gains and held on until they were relieved just before daybreak on the 29th by the Argyle and Southern Highlanders.
