Other Service History

It appears that John was in the Army Reserve as he was in France within days of the war starting. He also married in Lichfield which at times has been home to elements of the Lancs Fusiliers.

Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)           

The battalion war diary shows they were in the trenches at La Belle Alliance when 4 men, including John, were killed by snipers.
