Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)           

Henry is listed as being killed in action on 27 Sep 1915 during the Battle of Loos. The war diary entry is very brief and is transcribed below. Unfortunately there is no Appendix or Report nor details of casualties.
 
24th Sept: In Bois des Dames under short notice to move.
 
25th Sept: Early reveille. Moved off at 5.30,a when the Bde marched to Nouex-les-Mines, thence to Vermelles where the Regt bivouacd for the night.
 
26th Sept: Vermelles. At 12.30pm the Bde was ordered to proceed dismounted to take up a position near Loos.
 
27th Sept: Trenches at Loos. END
