Circumstances of Death

William died of Testicular cancer on the 26th January 1917 at the 1st Southern General Hospital, Edgbaston. He was subsequently buried at Lodge Hill Cemetery, Birmingham. He had originally been admitted to a hospital in France on 22 December 1916 with Trench Foot but was then diagnosed with Testicular Cancer and evacuated back to England aboard HMHS Newhaven and admitted to the 1st Southern General where he died a month later. |
