Circumstances of Death

Trevor is listed as being killed in action on 15th September 1916, the 6th Battalion war diary entry for that day is transcribed below.

15th Sep 1916: The Brigade assaulted the enemy trenches.

6.20am: Zero Hour

7.53am: 2 Coys moved forward to Clarks Trench. 47th Division held up in High Wood

8.20am: Orders for 15 Bde to take Martinpuich

11am: Bn HQ moved to Clarks Trench. Various messages from Coys attached

4.15pm: Order received that Clarks Trench would be organised by OC 6th N F & an assault made on 2nd Objective, this was cancelled & 15th Bde came up about 9.30pm but could do nothing.

Brigade was relieved by 15th Bde. Casualties were ascertained to be 279 OR. Capt T C Tweedy was killed.
