Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

On 9 Oct 1915 John and two others suffered gun shot wounds on an otherwise quiet day, so all were most likely shot by snipers. John was shot in the head. The war diary says he died in the ambulance but CWGC records say he died the next day in the 54th Casualty Clearing Station.
