Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)
Reginald was wounded by a shell explosion which hit him in the lumber region on tjhe 31 Aug 1918 during the Battle of Mont Saint-Quentin when the Australian Corps crossed the River Somme and broke the German Lines at Mont Saint-Quentin and Peronne in what the British Fourth Army's commander, General Henry Rawlinson, described as the greatest military achievement of the war.

Reginald was taken to the 53rd Casualty Clearing Centre, which at that time was located at Vecquemont, where he died 3 days laters on 2 Sep 1918
