Horace is listed by the War Graves Commission as dying on the 14th September 1916. The 24th Battalion war diary indicates at 12.15pm on 16th that Horace died of wounds on the 15th September. The Battalion war diary entries for the 14th to 12.15pm on 16th September 1916 are transcribed below.
