Circumstances of Death

Joseph died in a diabetic coma on 9th July 1916 at his home in the Law Courts / Police Station in Nuneaton where his father, Herbert, was the Superintendent. He had been sent back to the UK on leave in July 1915 suffering from Shell Shock and ill health. 

Joseph has arrived in France with the 1st/1st Warwick Battery, Royal Horse Artillery and on his return to England he was posted to the 3rd/1st Battery.
