Circumstances of Death

Herbert is listed as dying of wounds on 25th May 1917, most likely at one of the 8th, 19th & 41st Casualty Clearing Station which used the Duisans British Cemetery for its burials. The very brief war diary entry for the 15th Brigade is transcribed below.

In the Field - 25 May 1917: 614145 Gunner North, H. Warwick R.H.A wounded. Lt & Adjutent C.P. Duff RFA wounded.
