Captain Cass is listed as being killed in action on 13th December 1915. The 7th Battalion war diary entry for that day is transcribed below. Festubert - 13th Dec 1915: Captain Cass commanding A Company killed by German Sniper on Company HQ island of right section, otherwise nothing occurred. Captain Cass's body could not be brought in for burial till night as even single men cannot get to islands in daylight. Casualties: One Officer |
