Circumstances of Death

There is only scant detail available as there are no war diaries or service records to refer to. From the Warwickshire Roll of Honour it appears that Frederick died of Dysentery on 12 April 1918 and his CWGC record shows that he was originally buried in Mingoyo Cemetery, Tanganyika before his remains were moved to Dar es Salaam some time later (possibly 1925).

In April 1918 the 52nd Casualty Clearing Station was based at Mingoyo and it is highly likely that that is the place where he died.
