Herbert is listed as being killed in action on 25th July 1916. The brief 213th Company war diary entry for 25th July is transcribed below. Ypres - 25 Jul 1916 - 11am: 92873 A/II Cpl W Lovell & 92867 Sapper H Boote killed and 92829 Sapper E. Prestige wounded by hostile shell fire. The 213th Fortress Company was formed in Leamington Spa and Warwick in March 1915, it was renamed the 213th Army Troops Company in September 1915. You can see from the Recruitment poster below that the Coy was made up of tradesmen including Carpenters like George. (Source)
