Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

The battalion were in the front line at or near Stuff Redoubt NE of Thiepval when they were heavily shelled. The shelling killed 1 officer and wounded another. Other rank casualties are not mentioned but George would have been one of 16 men killed between the 22nd and 26th October.
