The 14th Battalion were a Pioneer unit and worked with the Royal Engineers. [Map Ref] 28.C.26.d.5.0 [east of Sint-Jan] - 1917 Oct 25: Worked was commenced under C.R.E 63rd Division (XVIII Corps) shows that Walter as follows: A&B Coys with 249th Field Coy [R.E.] repairing St. Julien - Winnipeg Road (C.21.c.4.1) eastwards C Coy under 247th Field Coy extending the two main dual board walks - Alberta & Mousetrap D Coy with 248th Field Coy carrying tram lines from St Julien to C.12.d.6.8 Casualties: 1 OR killed and 10 OR wounded. |
