Charles served in South Africa as Trooper 4764 in the 50th (2nd Hampshire) Battalion, Imperial Yeomanry and earned the Queens South Africa medal and 5 Clasps
Circumstances of Death
| Charles was Commissioned into the Royal Army Medical Corps on 28 Jul 1915 and was posted to Salonika arriving there on 28 Oct 1915. Charles served for around 2 years before returning to his GP's practice in Brinklow. He contracted and subsequently died of Influenza at his home in Brinklow. |
