Harry was one of scores of men admitted to the 39th Casualty Clearing Hospital from the 21st Field Ambulance between the 25th & 31st Oct 1918 suffering from Influenza. On 31 Oct 1918. He was was then transferred via the 41st Ambulance Train to the one of the three hospitals (11th General, 38th or 51st Stationary Hospitals) where he died on 7 Nov 1918 from Pneumonia. Medical records also show that on 14 Sep 1917 Harry had been admitted to a Casualty Clearing Station at Mendingham and then taken, via the 31st Ambulance train, to a military hospital at Wimereux suffering from the effects of being gassed by an exploding shell. Further on 21 Jul 1918 Harry was in the 9th General Hospital in Rouen suffering from a gun shot wound to the head> |
