The battalion were in a position near the Canal du Nord somewhere near Havrincourt preparing for an offensive due to start of 27th Sept. They were subject to a large bombardment which killed 3 men, including George, and wounded 6 others.

  • The Kenneth Fowler Roll of Honour book states that Fred worked as a shop manager in London. This would have been after 1911 census and no London address has been found, however his Probate was processed in London.
  • Fred is named on the headstone of the grave of his brother-in-law, Charles Holder in Bidford on Avon St. Laurence Grave Yard. Fred's sister Kate married Charles in Alcester in 1913. That is the only link to Bidford so far found.
