Ernest is listed as dying from wounds on 17 Feb 1917. The war diary is of no real assistance in identifying when and where he was wounded with unnamed casualties an almost daily event. In January and February 1917 the Battalion spent most of the month in or around the village of Bray-sur-Somme where Ernest is buried. |
