Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)
155th Brigade took part in the crepping and standing barrages sent down in support of the infantry units attacking towards Messines. They provided covering fire throughout the day and at one stage moved forward to the positions pinned on the map below. William was killed at some stage during the day.
