Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)
The war diary makes no mention of casualties at all during July 1916. It was based at Fricourt and carried out bombardments in support of allied attacks during the Battle of the Somme. Therefore it is not possible to say when he was wounded. He is buried in the village Warloy-Baillon which was home to Field Ambulances brought up to deal with casualties from the front lines of the Somme which were 8km away.
