Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

Gerald died at the 1st Western (Military) Hospital in Liverpool after suffering a secondary haemorrhage following surgery to amputate a shoulder. Gerald had suffered a gun shot wound to the back and right shoulder on 10 Sep 1916 near Wimereux, he was treated at 8th Stationary Hospital in Wimereux before being transferred to Liverpool.
