Circumstances of Death

Alfred is listed as dying of wounds received in action on 20th October 1918 and he was buried at Roisel Cemetery which was used by the 41st, 48th, 53rd and 58th Casualty Clearing Stations for their burials. We have not been able to identifty on which day Alfred was originally wounded and therefore cannot comment on the circumstances leading to his death which occurred just 3 weeks and 4 days after he arrived in the front lines.
