Circumstances of Death

Noel is listed as having died of wounds received in action on 5th Jul 1918 at . He was originally wounded on 29th June 1918 near Labecque. The 15th Brigade war diary entries for the period 29th June to 5th July 1918 are transcribed below.

29 Jun 1918: Order received for relief of 29 DA by 31 DA on 30 June & 1st July.

Lt. N.R.W. Kay wounded.

30 Jun 1918: Relief postponed until 2nd & 3rd July

1 Jul 1918: No entry was made in the War Diary on this day

3 Jul 1918: 15th Brigade RHA relieved by 171 Brigade RFA and marched to Wardreques area to rest. Lt. NRW Kay, L RHA died of wounds in a Base Hospital.
