Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

The battalion were ordered to attack enemy positions at Bellewarde Spur and occupy various trenches, the attack, in three phases, was "brilliantly excuted" and all the objectives were gained including Bellewarde Farm. The enemy suffered very heavy casualties and many were taken prisoner, however the battlion suffered 373 casualties of their own.
