Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

The company was is in the lines at Quiery-la-Motte (having retired under heavy fire from Mericourt the previous day) when they were ordered to fall back approximately 14km to Hemel. During the retirement David was the only soldier recorded as being killed as the German Spring advance continued.
