Circumstances of Death

Alfred died of Tuberculosis of the hip & Lardaceous disease on 30 May 1919 at the Hospital of St Cross, Rugby.

He enlisted on 21 June 1915 as a 16 year old Trumpeter. He was discharged on 6th July 1918 with tuberculosis of the right ankle and was issued with a Silver Badge. Alfred did not serve abroad and therefore did not qualify for any Campaign Medals.
