Sydney is listed as dying of disease on 18th October 1917. The disease he died of and the place where he died have not been ascertained. Stratford Herald Friday 26th October 1917 The parents of this young soldier have received the sad intelligence of his death from fever in Mesopotamia. Private Soloman belonged to the King’s Own Royal Lancashires and had been in action in three different theatres of the war. In January 1915 he was in France and was badly frostbitten. Upon recovery he was A quiet and unassuming young man he made many friends and his death is most keenly felt by his parents who reside in Vincent Avenue. |
