Circumstances of Death

Thomas is listed as dying of wounds on 22 Dec 1916 at a German Prisoner of War Camp at Cambrai. The following details are taken from Red Cross Prisoner of War records and the 2nd/7th Battalion war diary.

A short article in the Warwick Advertised on 13 Jan 1917 reports that Thomas was reported missing in action on 19 Dec 1916.  Red Cross records [click here]  show that Thomas died of wounds caused by grenade fragments at the German Prisoner of War Camp Field Hospital at Cambrai.
