Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)
Frederick is listed as dying of his wounds on 22 Oct 1918. The Company war diary (transcribed below) tells us that he was wounded the the same day by a shell.Villers en Cauchie 21/10/18: Work started on [girder] bridge at 01.30 and opened for traffic at 19.30hrs. Work continued on building up ? pieces, ? and strenghtening the abuttments of the bridge on the 22nd & 23rd.
