Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)
The battalion war diary shows that Albert was taken to the 55th Casualty Clearing Station at Charleroi on 23 Nov 1918 from their billets, also at Charleroi, where he was treated for "flu" (Influenza) which at that time was Spanish Flu. Scores of his colleagues were also sent to hospitals in the days before and after.
