Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

On the day that Davis was killed the battalion were in trenches at Pozieres and were working to repair a section between the Tramlines and Bapaume Road when 11 men because casualties of "friendly" shell fire from their own artillery (not known if British or Australian).Davis was one of the eleven.
