The Battalion War diary entry for the day, which doesn't give any information about how he was killed, it transcribed below.Kenora Camp, Westoutre 23.7.1917:- The Battalion paraded in the evening for a practice in forming up tapes. During the morning Coys held a kit inspection to see that they were perfectly ready to go into action. General Gordon and Captain Pragnell were killed today near the Bluff. Weather fine. End
