Circumstances of Death
| Stephen died at his brothers house of an internal hemorrhage from a ruptured spleen which had been aggravated by malaria he had caught on active service in Salonika. The time of his death Stephen had been given a leave of absence by the army and he had been due to return to his unit on the day he died. |
