Circumstances of Death
| John was taken prisoner at Messines on 10 Apr 1918 during the German Spring offensive and was then held at Dulmen Prisoner of War Camp, Haltern am See, Germany. His Red Cross records state that he died July 13, 2018 due to a weak heart or heart failure which was caused by Intestinal Catarrh.
