Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

On the 16th August 1916 the battalion relieved the 1st/4th Gloucestershire Regiment in the front line trenches at Ovillers. The following day the Germans launched a counter-attack on their positions which killed 3 and wounded 13 more men before the enemy were driven back by allied artillery fire. Harry was one of the 3 men killed.
