Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)
All the records state that Albert was killed in action on 23 Jan 1916 at Laventie however at that time the war diary states that the 1st Bn was in Merville, they are no reports of any fighting or casualties for the whole month of January and there was a Church Parade on the day Albert is reported to have been killed.
