| Edward is listed as dying of his wounds on 7 June 1917 at the 51st Casualty Clearing Station at Merville. Unfornately the Brigade war diary does not contain any specific information and in brief states that during June 1917 they were in the field near Merville carrying out counter battery work. No mention is made of any casualties or specific actions.
