  • The Kenilworth Advertised reported that the Memorial was unveiled on Sunday 25th June 1922 by Lt. General Sir John Keir.
  • The Kenilworth Advertiser article listed Edwin Adkins as the first name on the Memorial but unfortunately his name was engraved as Atkins
  • We believe that the name John Heath on the Memorial is actually an error and the name should be John Hiatt, this is confirmed by the parish magazine which does not list a John Heath but does list a John Hiatt (see link below).
  • Details of the Men Named were published in the Fillongley Parish Magazine - Click here to read it.

©Bibliography All of our information is independently researched and then compared to other sources. A list of the sources we use to do our independent research will be published soon. All of the photographs herein are linked back to their original source, except those taken by SWFHS. We are grateful to those other sources:

  • Find A Grave and it's numerous contributors for use of photographs, particularly Grave stones. SWFHS supplies pictures of the fallen and War Memorials to the site in the name of Ian Shuter.
  • The Great War Forum an excellent source of information and knowledge which is freely given.
