Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

The battalion where in trenches near Noyelles when they were ordered to capture the German front lines known as the Quarries, they achieved this and advanced as far as St. Elie which they secured until being relieved. However it came at a heavy cost with 73 Killed, 274 Missing and 181 wounded which left them with 1 officer and 140 other ranks.
